Grammar Point

A Keyphrase should be a short phrase that brings to mind and helps to remember the information on this frame.
だけに

as one would expect from ..., given that ... (naturally ...), because ..., being ...

Verb / い-Adjective / な-Adjective / Noun + だけに

This grammar point is used to express that because a certain condition exists, a natural or expected result follows. It often carries the nuance of 'as one would expect from' or 'precisely because'.

Verb / い-Adjective (Informal) + だけに

When using verbs or い-adjectives, use the informal form before だけに. This can be in the present or past tense.

Because I practiced a lot, I am happy that I won.

Because the exam was difficult, I was worried about the results.

な-Adjective stem + な / Noun + だけに

For な-adjectives, connect using な. For nouns, attach だけに directly to the noun without any particles. Add だった in the past tense.

As one would expect from a quiet place, I could concentrate on my studies.

Because he is a professional, his work is very fast.

Note

だけに is often used when the speaker wants to emphasize that the result is a natural consequence of the preceding fact. It is more formal than using just 'から' or 'ので'.
