Grammar Point

A Keyphrase should be a short phrase that brings to mind and helps to remember the information on this frame.
同士どうし

fellow, mutual, companion, comrade

Noun + 同士

The suffix 同士 is attached to nouns representing groups of people or things to indicate that they are of the same kind, category, or status. It expresses a relationship between members of that group, often translated as 'each other' or 'among fellow...'.

When attached to a noun, it emphasizes that the participants belong to the same group or share the same characteristics.

Friends talk to each other.

The enemies fought each other.

This is a secret among women.

The cousins are playing together.

Note

同士 is primarily used with nouns that describe people (like friends, enemies, or students) to show mutual interaction or shared status. It can also be used with objects if they are of the same type. It functions as a noun itself, so it is often followed by particles like が, を, or the possessive particle の.
