Grammar Point

A Keyphrase should be a short phrase that brings to mind and helps to remember the information on this frame.
仮にかりに

supposing, even if, granting that, for argument's sake

仮に + Conditional Sentence

仮に is used at the beginning of a sentence to introduce a hypothetical situation or a tentative supposition. It is almost always paired with conditional endings like ~たら, ~ば, or ~ても to express 'supposing that' or 'even if'.

仮に + Verb / Adjective / Noun Conditional

The adverb 仮に is placed before the clause containing a conditional form such as ~たら (if/when), ~ば (if), or ~ても (even if).

Supposing that you had one million yen, what would you buy?

Suppose that story is true, it is still a problem.

Note

仮に is often used to set up a 'what if' scenario for the sake of argument. While it is frequently used with hypothetical conditionals (たら/ば), when used with ~ても, it emphasizes that even in such a hypothetical case, the result would not change.
