equiv. of は topic marker

Noun + って

って is a colloquial particle used to introduce a topic, functioning similarly to the particle は. It is primarily used in casual conversation to highlight what the speaker is about to talk about.

In casual conversation, って replaces the topic marker は to bring up a person, object, or concept as the subject of the sentence.

Speaking of that movie, it was interesting.

As for tomorrow's weather, is it going to be clear?

As for sushi, I love it.

Note

って is very informal and should only be used in casual speech with friends or family. It is often used when the speaker wants to express an opinion or ask a question about the topic being introduced. It cannot be used in formal writing or polite speech.
