Verb or い-Adjective + とき

When using a verb or an い-adjective with とき, the modifier is placed directly before it in its informal form. This indicates the specific time or situation when an action occurs or a state exists.

Verb

Verbs in their dictionary or past informal forms can modify とき.

When I go to the library, I borrow books.

When I ate the cake, it was delicious.
